Service Setting: Inpatient (Level II Trauma Center); 15 ORs, 4 endo suites
EMR: Epic
Supervision Model: CRNA practice with anesthesiologist supervision
Support Staff: RN coverage 1:1

Patient Population & Volume

  • Adult and pediatric patients
  • Average daily volume: 4–5 patients
  • Case mix: Orthopedics, Neurosurgery (head, spine), Vascular (non–open heart), Thoracic (non–open heart), Obstetrics, ENT, Pediatrics

Required Qualifications

  • Board certified CRNA (BC required)
  • MN license or IMLC (Universal) licensure
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Pediatric training preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide general anesthesia and sedation across a broad case mix in a Level II trauma center
  • Manage airway, ventilation, arterial lines, acute volume/blood pressure issues
  • Perform regional and neuraxial techniques as required
  • Collaborate with supervising anesthesiologist within a supervised care model
  • Deliver pediatric anesthesia for ENT and ambulatory specialty cases

Required Procedures/Skills

  • Mandatory: general anesthesia (adult), trauma, obstetrics, neurosurgical (head/spine), thoracic (non–open heart), complex vascular (non–open heart), complex orthopedic, pain management techniques, ventilation management, arterial line placement, evaluation/management of acute volume/BP issues
  • Preferred: pediatric/neonatal anesthesia, spinal and epidural anesthesia, regional blocks (including post-op extremity blocks), epidural steroid injections (lumbar/cervical), transforaminal injections, x‑ray–guided blocks, central line placement, PA catheter placement, CRNA supervision
