Locum Tenens Non-Invasive Cardiologist — Inpatient & Weekend Call (Galloway/Pomona, NJ)

We’re looking for a board-certified non-invasive cardiologist to join an established cardiovascular team in Galloway, New Jersey, for a locum tenens assignment. This role blends inpatient coverage with weekend call duties, caring primarily for adult and geriatric patients in a Level II trauma hospital.

Compensation: $2,700 per day

What the role looks like

• Start: July, ongoing assignment
• Frequency: 1–2 weeks per month
• Typical weekday hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Setting: Inpatient consults and weekend call coverage
• Average volume: ~20 patients per day
• EMR: Oracle/Cerner

Call expectations

• Weekend call required: minimum of 2 weekends per month
• Rotation roughly 2 weekends on : 4 weekends off
• Call weekends do not have to be consecutive

Clinical responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of cardiovascular conditions
• Perform inpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care
• Interpret and perform non-invasive cardiac studies
• Collaborate with hospitalists, primary care providers, and other specialists to coordinate care
• Address urgent cardiac issues during weekend call
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the EMR

Required procedures and skills

• Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
• EKG interpretation
• Treadmill stress testing
• Cardiac imaging interpretation and consultation

Qualifications

• Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease
• Active New Jersey medical license
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Prior experience in inpatient non-invasive cardiology preferred
• Strong proficiency in echocardiography, TEE, stress testing, and EKG interpretation
