Locum Tenens Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Arizona (Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Tucson)

A physician-led organization in Arizona seeks a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for locum coverage supporting a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. The group provides robust clinical infrastructure so surgeons can concentrate on high-quality patient care alongside an experienced, collaborative orthopedic trauma team.

Locations: Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, and Tucson, AZ.

Assignment details:

• 24-hour shifts with blocked scheduling (7-day stretches; flexible options available)
• Built-in recovery time between rotations
• Mix of OR time, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic responsibilities
• Team-based model: work with an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon and acute care surgery coverage

Clinical responsibilities:

• Deliver operative and non-operative care for orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call at a high-volume center
• Manage complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical cases with inpatient care and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation

Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
