Locums Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — High-Acuity Tucson Center, Above-Market Pay

Join a physician-led team in Tucson, AZ, providing locum coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. This role supports well-resourced surgical teams and a robust clinical infrastructure, enabling physicians to concentrate on delivering excellent patient care in a collaborative environment.

Assignment highlights

• 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts per year (flexible scheduling available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery time between rotations
• Combination of OR time, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic responsibilities
• Work alongside an additional fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon
• Dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call coverage at a high-volume center
• Manage complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical caseload with inpatient care and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completed an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required; pelvic and acetabular fracture expertise preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
