Locums Invasive Cardiologist — $2,800/day, Mix of Clinic, Hospital & Procedures (Alpena, MI)

We’re looking for a Board Certified or Board Eligible invasive cardiology physician to join a collegial team in Alpena, Michigan, for a locum tenens assignment. This role blends clinic work, hospital rounding, procedures, and call coverage in a supportive, team-based environment. Compensation is $2,800 per day.

What the schedule looks like

• Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
• 1:2 call expectation
• A balanced daily mix of outpatient clinic time, inpatient rounding, and procedural time

What you’ll be doing

• New and established patient visits in clinic
• Inpatient rounding and cross-cover as needed
• Interpretation of imaging and cardiac testing
• Procedures based on your experience, which may include:
  • Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
  • Cardioversions
  • Loop recorder implant/explant
  • Diagnostic caths are optional—not required

Tools and workflow

• EMR: EPIC with Dragon dictation
• Team-oriented setting with a predictable workflow and procedural opportunities if you choose

Requirements

• Active Michigan medical license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Diagnostic catheter skills preferred but not mandatory
