Locums Neurosurgeon — $3,000/Day, Trauma & Inpatient Cases, Sacramento (PRN, Travel + Benefits)

Join a collaborative surgical team in Sacramento, California, as a locum neurosurgeon providing inpatient consults and urgent surgical care. You’ll evaluate acute cases coming through the Emergency Department or via transfers, manage trauma and urgent neurosurgical cases, and perform procedures when clinically indicated. This role emphasizes inpatient consultative services with strong support from experienced emergency physicians, hospitalists, and an ICU team committed to high-quality patient care.

Compensation

• $3,000 per day

What you’ll do

• Provide neurosurgical consultations for inpatient and acute admissions
• Manage trauma and urgent neurosurgical cases as needed
• Perform neurosurgical procedures (both urgent and elective when opportunities arise)
• Collaborate closely with emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, and ICU staff
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams

Schedule & coverage

• Locum tenens (PRN / as-needed coverage)
• Predictable scheduling with flexibility
• Coverage may include both consultative services and operative cases

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Active California medical license or ability to obtain one
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
