THE ORGANIZATION

CHRISTUS St. Vincent is a community-based, private, not-for-profit health system and the only designated Level III Trauma Center in Northern New Mexico. Serving more than 300,000 residents across a massive 19,000+ square mile, seven-county catchment area, we stand as the region's only full-service healthcare provider. Dedicated to delivering exceptional, personalized care, we offer a broad spectrum of services through our main hospital and a robust network of outpatient clinics encompassing nearly 40 specialty care programs.

Our Intensive Care Unit manages a high volume of acute trauma, surgical, and medical cases. As a proud member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, our clinicians and patients benefit from direct access to Mayo Clinic expertise, clinical protocols, and second opinions for highly complex ICU cases.

CHRISTUS St. Vincent has historically been recognized as one of Santa Fe's "Best Places to Work," a testament to our highly collegial, tenured, and supportive culture we offer our patients, and our practitioners.

THE TEAM

Our critical care department thrives on a collaborative, team-based care model. When stepping into our ICU, you will join a high-functioning, welcoming multidisciplinary team. To ensure seamless continuity of care, our department utilizes a single, fully integrated electronic health record (Epic) across both the inpatient ICU and outpatient clinics, making chart management effortless for PRN and rotating staff.

THE POSITION:

We are seeking an energetic, patient-centered Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our ICU team in a PRN capacity. In this vital role, you will help manage critical care emergencies and life-support systems within our high-acuity Level III Trauma Intensive Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive daily rounding on a multidisciplinary ICU patient panel.
  • Collaborate closely with attending Intensivists and care team members to diagnose, manage, and implement aggressive care plans for complex cases.
  • Safely perform essential inpatient critical care procedures and bedside interventions.
  • Provide adaptive, high-quality coverage to meet unit census demands and scheduling needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of New Mexico (or eligibility to obtain).

· Two or more years of dedicated advanced practice experience in an ICU or high-acuity critical care environment.

· Exceptional communication skills, procedural confidence, and a dedicated patient-first mindset.

If you’re ready for a role that values your time, your skills, and your passion for critical patient care, we’d love to talk. For questions regarding this position, you can contact: christina.vincent@christushealth.org
