Adelphi is looking for a Registered Nurse to deliver hands-on nursing care across correctional facilities in the Chesapeake, Virginia area. You’ll be part of a healthcare team assessing and treating patient needs, developing and updating care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records in a fast-paced, secure environment.

What we’re looking for

• Current Virginia RN license
• Minimum 1 year of corrections experience
• CPR certification
• Current resume

What you’ll do

• Assess patient health problems and needs, and develop/implement nursing care plans
• Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects
• Record medical information, vital signs, and any changes in condition
• Prepare patients for and assist with exams and treatments
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests as needed
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and medical records
• Prepare and maintain rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supply levels
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to evaluate and modify treatment plans based on patient response
• Follow state requirements and facility policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by the facility
