Minimum Requirements

  • MD licensed in Texas
  • Active DEA registration
  • Active NPI
  • Ability to enroll as a Medicaid and Medicare Part B provider
  • Meet all agency and facility pre-employment requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior medical director, supervisory, or clinical leadership experience
  • Experience managing complex medical, psychiatric, and/or behavioral health needs
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for residents with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs
  • Direct and coordinate primary care, psychiatric, dental, pharmacy, and laboratory services
  • Serve as primary care physician for an assigned caseload
  • Oversee diagnosis, treatment planning, and quality of clinical services
  • Supervise physicians, APRNs, PAs, pharmacists, dentists, psychiatrists, and contracted clinical staff
  • Consult on complex cases and support clinical staff with treatment decisions
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, committees, and work groups
  • Develop and maintain the on-call duty schedule
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate care for employees injured on duty and support emergency response and continuity operations as assigned
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Contract Details

  • Locum arrangement; contractor responsible for maintaining required licensure, credentialing, and provider enrollments.
