Overview
The Spine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will collaborate closely with pediatric orthopedic surgeons and a multidisciplinary spine team to provide comprehensive care for patients with both general orthopedic and spinal conditions. Responsibilities include the evaluation and management of a broad range of orthopedic diagnoses, assessment and treatment of spinal deformities, management of early-onset scoliosis with bracing, and coordination and evaluation of preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing spine deformity correction. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly specialized team dedicated to delivering exceptional, family-centered care to children with complex orthopedic and spinal conditions.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses II (APRN-II) provides proficient, comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. An APRN II obtains a comprehensive health history; performs physical examination; formulates a plan of care and treatment; prescribes/performs diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and procedures; and participates in patient and family education. Each APRN-II demonstrates professional leadership and participates in evidenced-based practice, quality improvement, and/or research activities, and organizational development.

Qualifications
- Master's Degree and 1-2 years pediatric experience required. Exceptions on case-by-case basis.
- DNP preferred for APRNs but not required
- APRNs must have RN compact license in their primary residency state or MO and KS single state RN license if residence is not in a compact state. (Required upon hire)
- APRNs must have MO and KS APRN licensure. (Required upon hire)
- PA’s must have MO and KS PA licensure. (Required upon hire)
- National Board Certification required for state licensure.
- APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (see policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) (Required Upon Hire.)
- Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications (Required Upon Hire).
- PNP-Primary Care will be required for PNPs
- candidate will have two years to enroll/be accepted in a program and five years to complete the program
- Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred
