Required qualifications

• Board certified (BC) in Pediatrics
• Massachusetts medical license
• PALS certification
• Fellowship preferred

Clinical duties

• Provide neonatal and pediatric inpatient care, including management of critically ill newborns and children
• Perform and supervise procedures: intubation (ETT/NT), central line and umbilical catheter (UVC/UAC) placement, arterial lines, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, paracentesis, thoracentesis, exchange transfusion, suturing, circumcision, needle decompression
• Manage respiratory support and ventilators (neonatal and pediatric; invasive and non-invasive)
• Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections; provide resuscitation and stabilization
• Collaborate with nursing, respiratory therapy, and subspecialty teams

Required procedures (must be able to perform)

• Non-invasive ventilation management (NeoPuff)
• Newborn and pediatric ventilation management (acute and chronic)
• Intubation (newborn, pediatric)
• Conscious and deep sedation
• Central line, arterial line, UVC, UAC
• Lumbar puncture, paracentesis, thoracentesis
• Chest tube insertion, needle pneumothorax decompression
• X-ray interpretation
• PA catheter insertion
• Exchange transfusion
• Suturing minor lacerations
• Circumcision
• Swallow study interpretation

Preferred experience

• Nursery Level II/III or NICU experience
• Invasive (ETT) and non-invasive (BiPAP/CPAP) ventilation management
• Use of inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) and ECMO familiarity
• Exchange transfusions, hemodialysis catheter placement
• Management of acute volume/BP issues
• Attendance at all and high-risk C-sections
• Broad experience with diagnostic/therapeutic taps and invasive monitoring (central, arterial, PA catheter)
