Required credentials
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
- BLS certification
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction
- Perform patient assessments and implement prescribed medications and treatments
- Manage wound care: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications
- Monitor and document vital signs and patient status continuously
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate care plans
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and self-care
- Respond promptly in medical emergencies and follow infection control protocols
