Summary
Provide onsite primary medical services and clinical oversight at a State Veterans Nursing Home in Oxford, Mississippi. Responsibilities include medical assessments, physical exams, treatment planning, medication management, care-plan review, discharge support, and regulatory-compliant documentation to ensure continuity of care.

Engagement

  • Contract
  • Term: Two (2) years, 11/01/2026–10/31/2028; may be renewed for one (1) additional one-year period
  • Schedule: Services required 24/7, 365 days/year. Up to 40 hours/week onsite (excluding weekends); remaining hours covered on call.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive medical assessments and physical examinations for residents
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and manage medications
  • Conduct regular care-plan reviews and provide discharge planning support
  • Provide medical oversight of clinical staff and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and medical records

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Current, unrestricted Mississippi medical license
  • Board certified
  • DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances
  • Minimum 3–5 years clinical experience; experience in long-term care, geriatrics, or skilled nursing facilities preferred
  • Prior leadership or Medical Director experience overseeing clinical operations and providers
  • Working knowledge of CMS, VA, Mississippi Department of Health, and nursing facility regulations

  • Must be able to provide regulatory-compliant medical coverage and on-call availability as specified.
