Adelphi is seeking a Medical Director to provide onsite medical leadership and primary care at a State Veterans Nursing Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. The Medical Director will deliver comprehensive resident care—including medical assessments, physical exams, treatment planning, medication management, care-plan review, discharge coordination, and ongoing medical oversight—to ensure continuity of care, timely access to primary services, regulatory-compliant coverage, and accurate clinical documentation.

- Schedule: Coverage required 24/7, 365 days/year; up to 40 hours/week onsite (excluding weekends) with remaining hours on call
Core responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care, including assessments, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Manage medications and ensure appropriate prescribing practices
- Lead and review individualized care plans and support transitions/discharges
- Oversee clinical quality and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and participate in facility leadership as needed
Required qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Current, unrestricted Mississippi medical license
- Board certified
- DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances
- Minimum 3–5 years clinical experience; preference for long-term care, geriatrics, or skilled nursing experience
- Prior leadership or Medical Director experience overseeing clinical operations
- Knowledge of CMS, VA, Mississippi Department of Health, and nursing facility regulations
- Strong skills in team supervision and interdisciplinary collaboration
