Locum Tenens Neurosurgery PA — Night Call Coverage, Busy 600+ Bed Stroke Center (Clearwater, FL)

Joining a neurosurgery team in Clearwater, FL, this locum tenens Physician Assistant will provide call-only coverage (beeper) for adult patients at a 600+ bed facility with a certified stroke center. Coverage is ASAP – ongoing, Monday–Thursday nights, 9:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., on a weekly rotation with a 15-minute response expectation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide phone consultation and call-back coverage for neurosurgery patients; perform inpatient rounding and handoffs as required during call shifts.
• Collaborate with 4 neurosurgeons and 4 APPs to manage an average daily census of ~10 adult patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Respond to acute neurosurgical needs and maintain timely communication with the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

• Board-certified Physician Assistant (BC required).
• Minimum 1 year of neurosurgery APP experience; fellowship preferred.
• Valid Universal License (IMLC) and hospital privileges (temporary privileges available).
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Facility & Support:

• EMR: Cerner.
• Support staff: 1 RN, 1 MA, 4 PA/NPs, 3 office staff.
• Phone consult volume: 0–25 per shift.
• Reason for coverage: scheduling need.
