What to expect

• Flexible scheduling: shifts include days, nights, and weekends. No extra on-call duties.
• High patient volume: average daily census ~106 patients.

• Fast-paced clinical experience with plenty of procedural opportunities and frequent transfers from surrounding facilities.

Typical shifts available

• 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Clinical environment

• Management of high-acuity and critically ill patients, including trauma and penetrating trauma.
• Regularly handle complex medical emergencies and cases that require transfer or specialty care.
• High procedural volume and significant transfer activity.
• Occasional psychiatric evaluations supported via telehealth.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients presenting with emergency conditions.
• Perform standard ED procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients.
• Coordinate transfers and manage complex cases when needed.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, and ancillary teams.
• Deliver timely, evidence-based care and maintain accurate medical documentation.

Support and resources

• Fully staffed Emergency Department with comprehensive support services.
• All standard ED support available.
• Note: pediatric coverage is not included.

Qualifications

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
• Active Missouri medical license or ability to obtain one.
• Current DEA registration.
• Required certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS (as applicable).
