Job Summary:

Mission Health is looking to build a surgical podiatry program working in close collaboration with existing service lines and local practices including, but not limited to, Mission Orthopedic Trauma Services and Asheville Orthopedic Associates. The Surgical Podiatrist will join our teams in Asheville, North Carolina in an established clinic on Mission Main Campus with ample operating rooms.

Qualified Candidates:

• Board certified/board eligible in Surgical Podiatry through American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS)
• Strong interest and training in foot and ankle wound care and limb preservation
• Practicing physicians preferred; new graduates completing fellowship training evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• Please note that this position does not offer visa support

Position Highlights:

• Start-up service line with support from existing surgical specialties including, but not limited to, Mission Orthopedic Trauma Services and Asheville Orthopedic Associates
  • Mission Orthopedic Trauma Services includes 5 Orthopedic Trauma Surgical subspecialists and 12 Advanced Practice Providers
  • Asheville Orthopedics Associates includes 7 Orthopedic physician subspecialists and 8 APPs
• Multidisciplinary team approach to foot and ankle care with focus on limb preservation (Orthopedics, Vascular, Infectious Disease, Wound Care, Hospitalist Medicine, and Renal Medicine)
• Hybrid role with clinic, inpatient consultations and rounding, and OR time
• Inpatient and Outpatient Consultation service Monday – Friday from 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
• Dedicated outpatient clinic space in walking distance to Mission Hospital
• 29 ORs at Mission Hospital and 12 ORs at nearby ASC well equipped for Podiatric cases
  • Dedicated OR block time
  • 7 total da Vinci Robotic surgical systems
• Practice call and ER call while on service, but no Trauma call required
