Locums Cardiac Surgery NP or PA (Inpatient & OR) — Bridgeport, CT (Temp-to-Hire)

Join a top cardiac surgery program in Bridgeport, Connecticut as a Locums Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant supporting inpatient care and the operating room. This role is a strong temp-to-hire option for clinicians who want to work closely with a collaborative cardiac surgery team while exploring a permanent fit.

Compensation: $125 per hour

What you’ll be doing

• Manage cardiac surgery patients across the perioperative continuum on inpatient units
• First assist in the cardiac OR when applicable
• Conduct postoperative assessments and daily rounds
• Manage chest tubes and other postoperative cardiac surgery procedures within your scope
• Coordinate care with cardiothoracic surgeons, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Document patient encounters in Epic

Schedule and team

• Three 13-hour shifts per week
• Shift options: 7:00 AM–8:00 PM or 7:00 PM–8:00 AM
• Weekend rotation approximately every 3–6 weeks
• Join a collaborative group of eight advanced practice providers

What we’re looking for

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Active Connecticut NP or PA license, or the ability to obtain one
• Strong inpatient cardiac surgery experience; prior cardiac surgery OR first-assist experience is preferred
• Experience with chest tube insertion and management required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
