Board-Certified OB/GYN Locum Physician Needed

We are seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN for a 12-week locum tenens assignment providing maternity leave coverage at a friendly rural hospital. This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient obstetrical care within a collaborative team and a manageable call schedule.

Assignment details

• Dates: September–November (12 weeks)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Setting: Combined inpatient and outpatient
• EMR: Epic
• Reason for coverage: Maternity leave
• Patient volume: ~15–20 patients/day

Call expectations

• Two weeknight call shifts per week
• Shared call rotation with three providers
• Coverage includes unassigned OB patients, established clinic patients, and general OB/GYN needs of a small rural hospital

Clinical responsibilities

• Full-spectrum OB/GYN care, including routine prenatal and postpartum management
• Well-woman and preventive examinations
• Gynecologic evaluations, procedures, and inpatient surgical coverage as needed
• Labor and delivery coverage and emergency OB/GYN consultations
• Inpatient rounding as required

Support and team

• Supported by licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) and medical assistants (MAs)
• Collaborative clinical team environment

Requirements

• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active, unrestricted state medical license (no licensure candidates)
• Current DEA registration (if applicable)
• Compliance with facility Employee Health vaccination requirements
• Preference for candidates able to commit to the full 12-week assignment
