Job Summary:
Mission Children’s is seeking a Pediatric Newborn Nurse Practitioner to join our engaged and passionate group of providers.Qualified Candidates:
- Requires a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)
- Requires specialized training and experience in neonatal/newborn care
- Ideal candidates have 1-3 years hands on experience
- New grads with specialized rotations and training in newborn care encouraged to apply
- This is a Pediatric Newborn NP role within our dedicated Newborn Hospitalist service line
- Works alongside 3 Newborn Hospitalists and 1 NP
- Will work alongside MAHEC Family Medicine Residents and UNC Medical Students

- Mission Children’s is the region’s only children’s hospital covering western North Carolina with 60 pediatric subspecialists in 23 different disciplines:51-bed, Level-III NICU and delivery room resuscitation staffed by our Neonatology team
- 34 bed Mother Baby Unit
- 19 bed Pediatric Unit
- 9 Bed PICU staffed by our Pediatric Intensivist team
- An average of 3,000 patient admissions to our pediatric inpatient units
- Approximately 4,000 deliveries per year
- Approximately 4,500 pediatric surgeries, and 14,000 pediatric visits to our emergency department per year
- Dedicated infant transport team serving a 55-county area
