Emergency Medicine Physician — Level III Trauma Center, High Volume, Competitive $315/hr (1099)

Join a high-performing Emergency Medicine team at a well-supported Level III Trauma Center serving Kennewick and the greater Tri-Cities region. We seek a dedicated Emergency Medicine physician to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Schedule

• 9-hour shifts: 5:30 AM–2:30 PM, 1:30 PM–10:30 PM, 9:00 PM–6:00 AM

Practice environment

• 21-bed Emergency Department with 6 fast-track beds and 14 ICU beds
• Annual ED volume: 24,440
• Level III Trauma Center
• Admission rate: 10.8%; transfer rate: 1.5%
• Team: 6+ emergency physicians and 7.5+ EM advanced practice providers
• Coverage model: 27 physician-hours/day and 22 APP-hours/day

Clinical resources

• CT in-house, bedside ultrasound routinely used by EM physicians, MRI on-call overnight
• Specialty support: anesthesiology, internal medicine, cardiology (including cath lab), OB/GYN, obstetrics, podiatry

Compensation and benefits

• Independent contractor (1099) at $315 per hour
• Paid malpractice coverage including tail

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care for a broad range of acute conditions
• Respond to all floor codes, including neonatal resuscitation
• Perform evaluations, order and interpret diagnostics, and initiate evidence-based treatment plans
• Use bedside ultrasound per department standards
• Collaborate with APPs, hospitalists, specialists, and nursing staff to optimize patient flow and outcomes
• Complete accurate, timely documentation for all patient encounters

Qualifications

• ABEM or AOBEM board-certified or board-eligible required
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine–accredited residency preferred
• Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians with substantial emergency medicine experience will be considered
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-acuity setting
