Locum Emergency Medicine Physician needed in the Northwest

We are hiring a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician (ABEM only) for an ongoing locum tenens assignment at a busy community emergency department. This long-term opportunity offers consistent monthly scheduling within a collaborative, physician-led environment.

Position details

• Coverage: Emergency Department at a community hospital (Level III Trauma Center)
• Start: September (credentialing required before start)
• Schedule: 11–15 shifts/month
• Shift length: 10 hours (guaranteed 10 hours per shift)
• Overtime: applies after 12 hours/day
• Call: none

Facility and patient volume

• Annual ED visits: ~30,000
• ED configuration: 22 beds (15 treatment rooms + 7 hallway beds)
• Physician staffing: single to triple coverage depending on volume
• EMR: Epic

Clinical support and specialty coverage

• 24/7 cardiac cath lab
• Tele-stroke coverage for activations
• Broad availability of medical and surgical specialties
• Typical specialty coverage:
  • Neurosurgery/Neurology: ~25%
  • Gastroenterology: ~80%
  • Orthopedics: ~90% (currently experiencing temporary staffing shortage)

Requirements

• ABEM Board Certification (required)
• Active, unrestricted state medical license
• Active DEA registration
• Current CV
• Clean credentialing history (no NPDB reports or significant red flags)
• Ability to complete and return privilege application within 1–2 business days
