Nocturnist Hospitalist Physician — Full-Time Nights, Teaching, Competitive Pay (Boston)

We’re looking for a dedicated, compassionate nocturnist to join our established hospitalist team in Boston. This full-time role offers a balanced mix of admissions and inpatient care, strong peer support, reasonable patient volumes, and opportunities for teaching and academic appointment in a collaborative environment that helps you thrive.

What the schedule looks like

• Full-time, hospital-employed position
• Weeknights: 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (one weekend shift extends to 7:30 AM)
• One daytime weekend shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (covers 10 patients)
• Average: 12 shifts per month, 12-hour shifts
• Typical workload: 4–5 admissions per shift with cross-coverage of 30–40 patients
• Team-based nights with nine nocturnists on duty and sick-call backup

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Completion of an accredited residency program
• Eligible for Massachusetts medical license
• Hospitalist experience preferred but not required
