Job Description

We are hiring Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians to provide consistent, expert inpatient care for pregnant patients presenting to the hospital. This role emphasizes patient safety, quality improvement, and collaborative practice with local obstetricians while preserving work/life balance.

Location

  • Primary: Chesapeake, VA. Additional opportunities in Mechanicsville, Petersburg, and Richmond, VA.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient OB/GYN care and manage obstetric emergencies.
  • Work collaboratively with local obstetricians, nursing, and hospital teams.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain thorough documentation and communication.

Schedule and compensation

  • Full-time hospitalist position; create-your-own schedule.
  • Typical workload: 7–9, 24-hour shifts per month (≈21 days off monthly).
  • No on-call responsibilities or office management.
  • Salary: $300,000–$340,000 annually plus full benefits.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Virginia medical license or ability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage obstetric emergencies and deliver high-quality inpatient care.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills.
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
