Locum Tenens Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon (Level II) — Rapid City, SD

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota

Position overview:
Provide full-time orthopedic trauma care, managing acute musculoskeletal injuries across the health system. Participate in operative and non-operative care, trauma call, multidisciplinary coordination, and quality improvement initiatives.

Compensation:
$4,500–$5,000 per day.

Required qualifications:

• MD or DO and completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency.
• Fellowship training or substantial experience in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery.
• Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
• Licensed (or eligible for license) to practice in South Dakota.

Practice expectations:

• Provide operative and inpatient fracture care, trauma clinic coverage, and on-call coverage as scheduled.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, critical care, and rehabilitation teams.
• Maintain documentation, participate in morbidity and mortality review, and contribute to quality and best-practice initiatives.

Group facilitates credentialing; locums consultant support provided.
