Location: Rapid City, South Dakota
Position overview:
Provide full-time orthopedic trauma care, managing acute musculoskeletal injuries across the health system. Participate in operative and non-operative care, trauma call, multidisciplinary coordination, and quality improvement initiatives.
Compensation:
$4,500–$5,000 per day.
Required qualifications:
- MD or DO and completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency.
- Fellowship training or substantial experience in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery.
- Board certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Licensed (or eligible for license) to practice in South Dakota.
Benefits and support:
- Above-market daily rate.
- All travel arrangements handled and booked by the group (in addition to per-shift pay).
- Professional liability and tail coverage provided.
- Dedicated locums consultant to manage credentialing and scheduling.
Practice expectations:
- Provide operative and inpatient fracture care, trauma clinic coverage, and on-call coverage as scheduled.
- Collaborate with emergency medicine, critical care, and rehabilitation teams.
- Maintain documentation, participate in morbidity and mortality review, and contribute to quality and best-practice initiatives.
Credentialing:
Group facilitates credentialing; locums consultant support provided.
