Emergency Medicine Physician (Independent Contractor) — North Augusta/Aiken, SC (Hospital + Freestanding ED)

Join a team of 16 emergency physicians and 9 advanced practice providers providing emergency care in North Augusta, SC.

Practice sites and volumes

• Medical Center (273-bed community hospital, 30-bed ED; chest pain and stroke center)
  • Annual ED volume: 43,000 visits
  • Physician coverage: 39 hours/day; APP coverage: 30 hours/day
• The ER at Sweetwater (10-bed freestanding ED, North Augusta, GA)
  • Annual volume: 23,000 visits
  • Physician coverage: 24 hours/day; APP coverage: 12 hours/day

Clinical and professional responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum emergency care at both sites
• Participate in hospital committees (credentials, sepsis, peer review, medical executive)
• Collaborate with specialists and administration
• Engage in teaching: APP students and internal/family medicine residents
• Manage all aspects of community emergency medicine with colleague support

Schedule and employment

• Independent contractor
• Flexible schedule; full-time commitment required (minimum 120 hours/month)

Compensation and incentives

• $300/hour for day shifts; $325/hour for night shifts
• $75,000 sign-on bonus for full-time shift commitment

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience
• Authorized to work in the United States

Location

• Primary practice in North Augusta, SC (regional service includes nearby Aiken, SC and North Augusta, GA)
