Emergency Medicine Physician (Independent Contractor) — Aiken, SC; Hospital & Freestanding ED

About the role

• Provide emergency care at a 273-bed community hospital with a 30-bed emergency department that is certified as a chest pain and stroke center. Annual ED volume is about 43,000 visits with 39 hours of daily physician coverage and 30 hours of APP coverage.
• Also staff The ER at Sweetwater, a 10-bed freestanding emergency department in North Augusta, GA. Annual volume is roughly 23,000 visits with 24 hours of physician coverage and 12 hours of APP coverage.
• Take part in hospital committees such as credentials, sepsis, peer review, and the medical executive team, building strong relationships with specialists and hospital leadership.
• Participate in teaching opportunities for APP students and internal and family medicine residents.

Schedule and compensation

• Work a flexible schedule as an independent contractor with a full-time minimum of 120 hours per month.
• Compensation: $300 per hour for day shifts and $325 per hour for night shifts.
• $75,000 sign-on bonus available for a full-time shift commitment.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and consultants while managing the full scope of community emergency medicine.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Full-time independent contractor commitment (minimum 120 hours/month).
