Regional Medical Director, Primary Care (Boston)

We’re seeking a mid-career, board-certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician to serve as Regional Medical Director, overseeing several outpatient primary care sites in and around Boston, MA. This hybrid role blends leadership and hands-on clinical practice: expect roughly three days per week focused on administrative and strategic initiatives, and one to two days per week seeing patients at a local site.

What you’ll do

• Provide regional clinical leadership for multiple primary care practices, setting standards for quality, access, and patient experience.
• Partner with operations, quality, and finance teams to advance value-based care initiatives and align clinical programs with organizational strategy.
• Mentor and support site medical directors and clinicians; help build clinical workflows, protocols, and performance improvement plans.
• Maintain a part-time patient panel, delivering high-quality primary care and staying connected to frontline clinical practice.
• Participate in hiring, credentialing, provider onboarding, and ongoing professional development activities.

Compensation & benefits

• Competitive base salary range: $270,000–$320,000+ (depending on incentives)

Must-haves (non-negotiable)

• Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Solid primary care clinical experience

• Prior clinical leadership experience
