Locum Tenens Hospitalist Physician — Denver, CO (6–8 Month Assignment)

A leading acute-care hospital in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Locums Hospitalist to provide inpatient coverage for an immediate need, anticipated to last 6–8 months. This role offers the opportunity to join a well-established hospital medicine team at a large Level I Trauma Center with dedicated admitters, a closed ICU, and multiple flexible shift options.

  • 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • 12:00 PM – 12:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Practice details

• Hospital size: ~520 beds
• Level I Trauma Center
• Average daily census: 200–220 patients
• Physician patient load: 18–22 patients/day (average 20)
• APP patient load: 12–15 patients/day
• Admissions: Dedicated admitting team; rounding physicians do not take admissions
• ICU: Closed ICU with intensivist coverage; no ICU rounding required

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients
• Perform daily rounds, develop treatment plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care
• Collaborate with specialists, nursing, case management, and ancillary services
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation
• Support safe, high-quality care and efficient discharge planning

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active Colorado medical license or ability to obtain one prior to assignment
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
