Join a busy hospital ED in Eagle Pass, TX for a locum tenens opportunity covering a clinical-only week from 11/19/2026 to 11/26/2026. You’ll work 12-hour MD shifts within a model that provides 24-hour physician coverage. The emergency department sees all ages and handles about 14,700 visits a year, with admissions as required and a typical emergency medicine case mix.
What the facility is like
- 14 ED beds (101-bed hospital) with Level IV trauma designation
- Cerner EMR and standard ED equipment on site
- Specialty backup through hospital services
- NP/PA coverage available 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Clinical expectations
- Provide ED evaluation, stabilization, resuscitation, and routine emergency procedures for patients of all ages
- Document patient care in Cerner
- Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, and hospital staff
- Follow facility credentialing and clinical policies
Credentials and compliance
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
- Credentialing typically takes about 120 days
- Required: active Texas medical license, active Texas DEA (Schedules II–V; fee-paid)
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NRP
- Board certified or board eligible preferred (Emergency Medicine preferred)
- Training: ACGME/AOA EM/FM/IM residency; maintain case logs (24 months) and CME (2 years)
- Malpractice coverage: $1M/$3M required

Experience
- Current emergency department practice required
