Adelphi seeks a licensed School Physical Therapist to deliver on-site therapy services at a Sarasota County public school. The therapist will collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to assess, plan, and implement individualized services that meet state standards and student needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Florida School Physical Therapist license and state certification
• Minimum 1 year experience working with students in a school setting
• Minimum 1 year experience supporting students with multiple disabilities
• Minimum 1 year experience participating in IEP meetings
• Minimum 1 year experience developing therapy goals for IEPs

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations, develop IEP recommendations, and write measurable short- and long-term therapy goals
• Reassess student progress at least monthly and update plans as needed
• Actively participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on program planning
• Serve as a resource to teachers, aides, and staff on seating/positioning, sensory needs, and adaptive equipment
• Provide direct supervision and coordinate in-person contact with contracted PTAs at least once every 14 calendar days when assistants are assigned
• Support students during school activities (e.g., lunch, adaptive education, gym, swimming) to monitor feeding, posture, sensory input, and appropriate participation
• Perform other duties as assigned to support student access and success
