We’re looking for a locum tenens urologist to provide inpatient coverage in Richland, WA (99352) starting Nov 1, 2026 and continuing on an ongoing basis. You’ll work a 7-on/7-off schedule of 12-hour daytime shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and take overnight beeper call on the same rotation. Call response time is expected to be 20 minutes. This assignment exists to cover scheduling needs; travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided by the agency.

Clinical load averages about 15 patient encounters per day with phone consults and variable admissions. You’ll practice on Epic and work with an experienced support team (approximately 3 RNs, 9 MAs, and 4 PA/NPs).

Day-to-day duties

• Provide inpatient urology coverage during scheduled 12-hour shifts and manage overnight beeper call responsibilities.
• Handle consults and urologic emergencies, coordinate care with bedside staff and ancillary teams, and support patient transitions.
• Perform a broad spectrum of adult urology procedures—ranging from general urology to complex oncologic cases—with an expectation for both endoscopic and open/robotic operative work.
• Collaborate with facility staff and the locum agency; there may be potential to transition to a permanent role.

Procedures required (examples)

• Endourology: ureteroscopy (with laser), percutaneous nephrolithotomy, TRUS biopsies, renal/bladder ultrasound with biopsy, ESWL
• Advanced endoscopic techniques and laparoscopic procedures
• Robotic surgery, radical prostatectomy, radical cystectomy with ileo-loop conduit
• Nephrectomy (including partial nephrectomy with intraoperative ultrasound), pelvic lymph node dissection, adrenalectomy
  Preferred: experience with penile prosthesis placement

Requirements

• Board eligible (within 5 years) required
• WA medical license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• DEA registration
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Epic proficiency and comfort performing a wide range of urologic procedures
• Fellowship training preferred
