Join a dynamic team in Palm Springs, California, providing high-acuity trauma, acute care surgery, and surgical critical care at a busy Level I Trauma Center. This ongoing locum opportunity places you in an academic teaching environment where you’ll care for complex patients, work with trainees, and contribute to a large, multidisciplinary program.
Compensation
- $4,300 per 24-hour shift

Clinical responsibilities
Trauma & Acute Care Surgery
- Respond to trauma activations and manage both operative and non-operative trauma patients
- Perform emergency general surgery and acute care procedures
- Evaluate and manage acute care surgery consultations
- Participate in inpatient rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Contribute to trauma quality and performance improvement activities
Surgical Critical Care
- Provide ICU care for critically ill trauma and surgical patients in a high-acuity setting
- Cover the surgical ICU and collaborate closely with anesthesia, nursing, emergency medicine, and specialty services
Teaching responsibilities
- Supervise and teach General Surgery residents and Surgical Critical Care fellows at the bedside
- Participate in trauma activations, OR cases, ICU care, and daily rounds
- Contribute to M&M conferences, simulation sessions, didactics, and other educational activities as appropriate
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
- Fellowship training in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care required
- Current or eligible for a California medical license
