Locums Cardiothoracic Surgeon — 24-hr Call (Ogden, UT)

Location: Ogden, Utah — Level II Trauma Center

Schedule and Coverage

• 24-hour call coverage

Facility and Systems

• Trauma designation: Level II
• EMR: Meditech
• Hospital provides vein-harvest team

Clinical Volume (typical)

• Total patients: ~10–12 per week
• Consults: ~3–5 per week
• Surgeries: ~1–3 per week
  • Cardiac: ~1 case/week (≈80 cardiac cases/year)
  • Thoracic: ~2–3 cases/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour call coverage for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery
• Evaluate, manage, and document care for pre-op, operative, and post-op patients in Meditech
• Perform cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures as required
• Respond to and manage consults, offering surgical recommendations
• Collaborate with hospital staff and the multidisciplinary surgical care team

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery
• Active Utah medical license and Utah DEA
• Experience performing both cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
• Comfortable providing independent call coverage in a Level II Trauma Center
