Director of Medical Services — PMHNP (Remote, Behavioral Health)

We’re expanding a behavioral health organization and looking for a clinical leader to oversee medical services and join our leadership team. Reporting to the VP of Medical Services, you’ll provide strategic, administrative, and clinical direction for a multidisciplinary medical team—including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other medical staff—to ensure consistent, evidence-based care across our footprint.

This is a full-time, fully remote role supporting programs in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. You’ll focus on driving high-quality behavioral health delivery, promoting best practices, maintaining regulatory compliance, and mentoring clinicians to help the organization grow and succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of medical providers, offering clinical oversight, mentorship, and performance guidance.
• Set and promote evidence-based clinical standards and protocols for behavioral health services.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with operations and clinical leadership to align services with organizational goals.
• Provide strategic input on clinical programming, service expansion, and continuous quality improvement.
• Serve as a resource for complex clinical cases and support clinician development and training efforts.

What we’re looking for

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
• PMHNP-BC certification.
• Active PMHNP/APRN license in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Virginia — and willingness to obtain additional state licenses if needed.
• Minimum of 3 years post-licensure PMHNP experience, including work with pediatric or adolescent populations.
• At least 3 years of administrative or leadership experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge of pediatric psychiatry and demonstrated use of evidence-based practices.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate medical teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization and navigating regulatory requirements.
