Job Description

We’re looking for a caring, collaborative Medical Director/Attending Physician to provide medical oversight and hands-on care for residents in skilled nursing facilities around St. Joseph, Michigan. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, close teamwork with experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, and a chance to make a real difference in post-acute and long-term care.

  • Local opportunities in Michigan: Bad Axe, East Jordan, Grayling, Holland, Houghton Lake, Manistique, Mount Pleasant, Ovid, and Temperance.
  • Additional openings nationwide in: Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

What the role looks like

  • Provide patient-centered care and clinical leadership across assigned skilled nursing facilities.
  • Collaborate with NPs and PAs to manage admissions, daily rounds, care plans, and transitions of care.
  • Serve as the attending physician for facility residents, ensuring quality clinical oversight and timely decisions.

Schedule and workflow

  • Part-time commitment; physicians typically cover a facility 1–2 days per week.
  • No fixed daily start/end times, no overnight shifts, and no on-call responsibilities.
  • Expect to complete roughly 18–25 visits per day.
  • New graduates who are board-eligible and actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, PM&R, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care.
