Job Description

Location: St. Albans City, VT (also opportunities in Burlington, VT; Hyannis, MA; North Conway, NH)

Schedule: Full-time Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM; no weekends, no call. Part-time and PRN options available.

Practice setting: Facility-based inpatient/post-acute care (skilled nursing / long-term care environments). Emphasis on continuity and recovery-focused care.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide inpatient medical care for medically complex post-acute patients
  • Admit, evaluate, and manage patients within facility protocols
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, consultants, and families
  • Document encounters, orders, and care plans in the medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement and facility initiatives as needed
  • Travel between assigned facilities when required

Compensation and benefits:

  • Guaranteed base compensation $200,000–$500,000+; most full-time physicians earn $300,000–$500,000

Minimum qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or related specialty
  • Active, unrestricted state medical license or eligibility to obtain one
  • DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience in hospital medicine, post-acute care, skilled nursing, long-term care, geriatrics, or internal medicine preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment for managing complex patients
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care
