Primary Care Medical Director

Lovelace Medical Group is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join their Roswell Primary Care Clinic.

Lovelace Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified Primary Care Physician to serve as Medical Director for our growing primary care practice in Roswell, New Mexico. This leadership opportunity combines direct patient care with medical directorship responsibilities, offering the ability to influence clinical quality, provider engagement, and patient outcomes while practicing in a collaborative, team-based environment. This role includes oversight and supervision of five Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and supports continued growth of the practice. 

Opportunity Highlights

  • Join an established and growing primary care practice with 4 physicians, 5 nurse practitioners, and 2 physician assistants.
  • Medical Director role with dedicated leadership responsibilities, including oversight of 5 APPs
  • 36 patient-facing hours per week plus administrative time.
  • Monday through Friday schedule with clinic hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Expected patient volume of 18-22 patients per day.
  • Dedicated medical directorship responsibilities include maintaining Rural Health Clinic accreditation, provider chart audits, clinical policy review, quality initiatives, compliance oversight, and other leadership duties.
  • On-site ancillary services including laboratory and imaging support. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services for patients across the lifespan.
  • Supervise and mentor five Advanced Practice Providers while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered culture.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support regulatory compliance and Rural Health Clinic standards. 
  • Participate in the development and review of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Promote clinical excellence, provider engagement, and exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Leadership experience in a primary care setting preferred.
  • Interest in population health, chronic disease management, quality improvement, and team-based care.
