The program is actively adding interventional cardiology resources and strengthening its regional footprint, creating long-term growth opportunities for cardiovascular surgeons. You will work alongside an established multidisciplinary team supported by experienced advanced practice providers and a robust referral network. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of a high-acuity cardiovascular service line while making a meaningful impact on patient care.
Position Highlights
  • Employed cardiovascular surgery position with Detroit Medical Group.
  • Practice based at the TPR Cardiovascular Clinic within The Heart Hospital campus. 
  • Daily hospital rounds with a typical schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Clinic at Sinai-Grace Hospital at least one day per week.
  • Clinic at The Heart Hospital one day per week.
  • Approximately 40 hours per week dedicated to patient care, including OR and clinic responsibilities.
  • Clinical mix of approximately 75% OR time, 15% clinic, and 10% rounding.
  • Shared call rotation currently 1:2 with plans to expand to 1:3.
  • Hospital-compensated call coverage | Call includes consults, cardiac surgery emergencies, ECMO, transfers, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Typical clinic volume of 5 to 7 patients per day, depending on referrals and post-surgical follow-up.
  • Collaborate with a cardiovascular team that includes interventional and non-invasive cardiologists, pediatric cardiovascular surgeons, and a large cardiovascular referral base.
  • Privileges across Detroit Receiving, Harper, and Sinai-Grace hospitals

  • Board Certified
  • Cardiovascular Surgery training and expertise
  • Active MI Medical License
