• Practice setting: Hospital-based
• Schedule: 24-hour shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.)
• Coverage: 12 days per month, primarily weekends
• Call type: 24-hour in-house call
• Average patient volume: ~3 consults/day

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient GI consults and 24-hour call coverage
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and inpatient GI conditions
• Perform procedures as clinically indicated
• Communicate and coordinate care with hospitalists, nursing, and ancillary teams
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in the EMR

Requirements

• Board certified in Gastroenterology
• Active Virginia medical license or ability to obtain
• DEA and CSR or ability to obtain
• Prior inpatient GI and call experience preferred
