Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery PA or NP - Weekend/Vacation Coverage (Lexington, KY)

We’re looking for a locum Cardiothoracic Surgery PA or NP to join a team in Lexington, Kentucky, covering primarily weekends and providing vacation relief. This is a hands-on role for someone with solid cardiothoracic experience who’s comfortable first assisting on major cardiac and thoracic cases and managing patients across the OR, ICU, and telemetry.

What you’ll do

• Provide 24-hour coverage, focused on weekend shifts and vacation coverage
• Run approximately 1-2 call days per week and about one weekend of call per month
• Weekend call typically runs Friday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM
• First assist in major procedures including CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resections
• Work in the operating room and manage patients in ICU and telemetry
• Perform inpatient rounding, procedures, and other surgical duties as needed

What we’re looking for

• PA or NP with prior cardiothoracic surgery experience (required)
• Proficiency in first assisting for cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Comfort and competence working in the OR, ICU, and telemetry settings
• Active Kentucky license
• BLS and ACLS certification
• DEA registration
