Locum Tenens NeuroCritical Care NP/PA - High-Acuity ICU, Flexible Rotating Shifts, $120/hr

We’re looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a NeuroCritical Care team in Boston for a locum tenens assignment. You’ll be part of a focused, multidisciplinary group caring for complex neurology and neurosurgery patients in a high-acuity Neurosciences ICU.

Schedule

• About 3-4 twelve-hour shifts per week (roughly 40 hours)
• Rotating day, night, and weekend coverage
• Locum tenens with potential for ongoing coverage

Compensation

• $120.00 per hour

What you’ll do

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute neurological and neurosurgical conditions in the ICU.
• Work closely as part of the NeuroCritical Care team alongside attendings, fellows, residents, and other APPs during daily rounds.
• Take thorough histories and perform comprehensive neurological exams.
• Create and implement treatment plans, coordinate specialty consultations, and communicate care plans to patients and families.
• Provide inpatient consultations and maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation.
• Perform procedures within your training and credentialing, which may include:
  • Central and arterial line placement
  • Intubation
  • Lumbar puncture
  • Lumbar drain placement and removal
  • Nasogastric tube placement
  • Staple and suture placement/removal
  • Wound care and packing
  • Spine brace and cervical collar placement/removal

Who we’re looking for

• Active Massachusetts NP or PA license
• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Current national certification appropriate to your discipline
• Experience in NeuroCritical Care, critical care, neurology, or neurosurgery strongly preferred
• Comfort working rotating days, nights, and weekends
• Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and collaborative teamwork skills
