Chief of Radiology (Physician) - Brown University Health, Providence RI

Community hospital-based radiology leadership position located in Providence, RI, with academic affiliation to Brown University Health. Seeking a full-time, experienced radiologist to serve as Chief of Radiology for a regional network of community hospitals.

Role overview

• Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for radiology services across multiple community hospital sites.
• Balance administrative duties with clinical practice and academic activities (teaching/mentorship).
• Lead program development, service-line expansion, technology adoption, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of radiology departments across the network.
• Set clinical standards, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance processes.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate radiology staff and faculty.
• Manage budgets, capital planning, and technology implementation.
• Represent radiology in system-level planning and collaborative initiatives with clinical departments and hospital leadership.

Qualifications

• Board certified in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency.
• Fellowship training preferred; subspecialty expertise a plus.
• Proven leadership experience (e.g., section chief, medical director).
• Strong understanding of hospital operations, quality metrics, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Compensation and benefits

• Target total compensation: $500,000-$700,000+ depending on experience and incentives.
