Locum Hospitalist Physician - Rochester, NH (Inpatient, 100-bed; No Call After Shift)

A locum tenens Hospital Medicine physician is needed for an ongoing inpatient role at a 100-bed hospital in Rochester, New Hampshire. This position offers the chance to deliver comprehensive care to an underserved adult patient population within a collaborative hospital environment. Shifts are on-site; once a shift ends, clinicians are not expected to take calls or be recalled.

Position highlights

• Hospital-based inpatient practice at a 100-bed facility
• Typical daily census: 14-24 patients
• Admissions: approximately 4-5 per day
• Consults: approximately 4-6 per day, primarily behavioral health and rehabilitation
• Underserved patient population; no trauma designation
• On-site coverage with no after-shift call-back expectations

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive hospital medicine care to adult inpatients
• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Perform daily rounds and develop individualized treatment plans
• Admit and manage new patients; coordinate ongoing inpatient care
• Respond to clinical needs during assigned shifts
• Arrange and coordinate consultations and referrals (behavioral health, rehab, other services)
• Collaborate with nursing, specialists, and the multidisciplinary care team
• Coordinate discharge planning and transitions of care
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active New Hampshire medical license
• Current DEA registration
• BLS certification
