Locums Emergency Medicine Physician - Sebring, FL (Ongoing Community ED Coverage)

Join a busy community Emergency Department in Sebring, Florida, providing high-quality, patient-centered care with strong APP support and a balanced schedule. This locums opportunity offers ongoing coverage in a collegial, community-focused environment.

Assignment details:

• Facility: Community hospital ED
• Annual volume: ~18,000 visits
• ED size: 13 beds
• Coverage model: Single-physician shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
• APP coverage: 8 hours/day in off-season; 10 hours/day in peak season
• Admission rate: ~15%
• Dedicated Senior ER for geriatric patients
• EMR: MEDHOST
• Duration: Ongoing locums coverage

Core responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergency conditions
• Lead and supervise APPs and ED staff during shifts
• Stabilize critically ill/injured patients and coordinate admissions or transfers
• Collaborate with nursing and hospitalist teams to optimize patient flow and care quality
• Accurately document all encounters in MEDHOST

Qualifications:

• ABEM or AOBEM board certified in Emergency Medicine
• Active Florida medical license, or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
• Two or more years of recent ED experience preferred
