Locums Emergency Medicine Physician - Level II Trauma Center, Orlando, FL

We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage at a busy community emergency department in Orlando, Florida. This role offers the chance to practice in a modern, well-supported ED with access to comprehensive specialty services and a collaborative team.

Position highlights

• Level II Trauma Center with a dedicated trauma room
• Comprehensive Stroke Center and STEMI/Heart Center
• 11 private patient-care beds and a dedicated pediatric treatment room
• Average volume ~30 patients per day
• Patients requiring admission are transferred to the main campus with seamless handoff to intensivists, hospitalists, and specialists
• Collaborative emergency medicine team and robust specialty backup

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions
• Stabilize and care for critically ill or injured patients, including trauma and pediatric emergencies
• Perform emergency procedures within the scope of emergency medicine practice
• Coordinate care and handoffs with specialists and inpatient teams to ensure smooth transitions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Deliver evidence-based, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) preferred
• Board Certified in Family Medicine with at least 4 years of emergency medicine experience or completion of an Emergency Medicine fellowship will also be considered
• Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain
• DEA registration required
