Primary Care Family Medicine Physician - Team-Based, Value-Focused Practice in Tacoma, WA

Join a collaborative primary care team in Tacoma, WA where you can deliver whole-person, relationship-driven medicine. We’re looking for a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician who values preventive care and wants to improve patient outcomes within a value-based, team-oriented model.

What the practice is like

• Small, manageable patient load (about 10-15 patients per day) with extended appointment times (20-60 minutes) so you can really listen and treat the whole person.
• Team-based care with dedicated clinical support, including health coaches, to help patients meet goals and stay well.
• Emphasis on preventive medicine, care coordination, and population health - with opportunities to take on leadership roles as the organization grows.

Typical day & expectations

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care across the lifespan, focusing on preventive services, chronic disease management, and care planning.
• Collaborate closely with nurses, care coordinators, and health coaches to support complex patients and close care gaps.
• Participate in a value-based care framework that rewards quality, patient experience, and outcomes.
• Use the electronic medical record for documentation and work with practice workflows designed for team collaboration.

• Competitive salary range: $243,074-$364,611.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completed an accredited Family Medicine residency (Family Medicine preferred; Internal Medicine considered).
• Current board certification (ABFM, ABIM, or AOA).
• Minimum of 3 years primary care experience.
• Current, unrestricted Washington medical license or ability to obtain one; current DEA registration.
• Negative TB test documented within 12 months prior to start.
• Experience working in team-based care and familiarity with electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of medical coding and documentation, including Medicare Advantage and HCC coding.
• Comfortable using Google Workspace.
