Part-Time Medical Director / Attending Physician - Hospitalist (Skilled Nursing, Henderson NC)

Location: Henderson, North Carolina

Summary
Provide part-time clinical leadership and attending physician services across local skilled nursing facilities. Partner with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to deliver patient-centered care and oversee clinical operations within assigned facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Admit, evaluate, and manage post-acute and long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities
• Provide clinical oversight and guidance to NPs and PAs
• Coordinate with facility staff and families regarding care plans and transitions
• Complete documentation and required regulatory/charting tasks
• Participate in quality improvement and compliance activities as needed

Schedule and workload

• Part-time; physicians typically cover each facility 1-2 days per week
• No fixed start/end times; schedule flexibility
• No call responsibilities and no overnight shifts
• Typical patient volume: 18-25 visits per day
• New graduates who are board-eligible and actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply

Qualifications

• MD or DO with unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, or Emergency Medicine
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
