Nocturnist Physician - Hospital Medicine (Night Shift) - Martinsburg, WV

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive overnight care for adult inpatients, including initial assessment, ongoing management, and discharge planning
• Admit patients from the Emergency Department and manage inpatient admissions overnight
• Perform thorough history and physical examinations, formulate diagnoses, and initiate appropriate treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions
• Monitor and respond to clinical changes and urgent overnight needs
• Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and daytime hospitalists to ensure seamless continuity
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active West Virginia medical license, or eligibility to obtain one
• Strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and commitment to team-based inpatient care
